SOT the System of Things
Improving the security system means improving the infrastructure, but only if we think differently about the infrastructure than we have so far.

The security infrastructure is basically the quality of the elements that make up the system, their cooperation, coordination, operational reliability, goal orientation, and ultimately the awareness of the system. The modern work environment managed with safety does not tolerate,- beyond the acceptable level-, the component that threatens with danger and loses. It expects the identified nonconformity to remain afloat until the system optimization eliminates it. So it can be seen that increasing efficiency, minimizing losses, automating and digitizing is not necessarily an investment.

We rethought the SOP. SOT is operated by the optimizer.

When we talk about the System of Things (SOT), we are talking about human consciousness, because the precision of operating mechanisms, the principle of “where and when necessary” in the light of human capabilities, will mean an efficient, sustainable system or, on the contrary, inefficiency.

Operational safety basically depends on the coordination and the awareness, regardless of the presence the human factor or the automated device. The basic condition for this coordination is that everything is able to carry out the defined tasks safely and that everone is aware of the expectations, its benefits and how the fulfillment has a positive effect on the overall operation.

This is nothing more than a measurability of how security awareness is present in security zones with different vulnerabilities, how the industrial environment becomes aware and how this kind of safety awareness is followed by the manager in charge of overseeing the system. Is it possible for someone to probe the level of it from time to time or can we build a security system, that is self-monitoring, can it improve itself, or at least can it indicate if the fit of some operational „coefficient” is not perfect?

This question in the world of Industrie 4.0 is not theoretical at all.

When we mention the operational efficiency and operational safety, we need to examine the context so that we do not fall into a “natural” error. Because it is often “natural” that our security needs are maximized but our expenses are minimalized.

A „natural” error is that

we evaluate the real operating potential of the system like an action or a project,

it is measured by the ones who operate, or

it is calibrated based on external measurement know-how that is unfamiliar with location and situation specifics.

System-level, exploratory-repair, expert work does not requre an action hero and usually takes more than 90 minutes without commercials.

The SOT, the interaction of things and the oversight of the system, which is why it needs to be checked from time to time,- based on the different aspects than the known and planned audits-, for internal control and external review, because that is also natural.

Even those who operate systems with great work and dedication are not able to get/give an objective picture of their own system and the possibilities of eliminating sometimes hidden, sometimes spectacular errors in it, without external opinions.

Even they are not able to give an unbiased opinion on individual segments and even the measurability of some segments may not be resolved, its process is vulnerable or the accuracy of the measurement results is questionable.

There is a difference between the word of a man from afar and the word of a man watching from outside the danger community. The first one does not motivate me either, but the objectivity of the second one may be considered.
